Special Features:

A violet absolute provides the aromatic foundation of this liqueur, complemented by other floral notes. Joseph Cartron uses violets from Egypt. The fresh, floral and fruity character also has a powdery note reminiscent of violet sweets.

Joseph Cartron introduced the violet liqueur at the Cocktails Spirits trade fair in 2016. It works in cocktails such as the Aviation, but can also be enjoyed on its own over ice or used to enhance desserts. The bottle offered here contains 0.7 litres at 20% alcohol.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is delicate and fresh, with distinctly floral violet notes and subtle vegetal and herbal accents.
• Palate: The liqueur opens softly and roundly on the palate, with fruity notes quickly joining in. A bouquet of wild violets unfolds on the exhale. The texture remains light and airy, and the flavour is balanced.
• Finish: Floral notes of wild violets linger through the long finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Joseph Cartron founded the house in 1882 in Nuits-Saint-Georges, Burgundy. Today, Judith Cartron carries on the family tradition in its fifth generation. The connection to the region is particularly evident in the selection of fruit from local orchards and vineyards. Alongside liqueurs and fruit crèmes, the range includes fruit spirits as well as Marc and Fine de Bourgogne, which reflect Burgundy’s winemaking history.
