Tullamore D.E.W. Café Honey combines Irish whiskey with roasted coffee and honey from Bohemia. The coffee comes from a small artisan roastery in north-western Ireland, and the honey from Bohemian beekeepers. Its base is the house’s triple-distilled whiskey, which brings together three whiskey styles and maturation in three types of cask. Coffee and honey complement this foundation to create a liqueur with a pronounced coffee character and a sweet finish.

The liqueur has an alcohol content of 35% and comes in a bottle containing 0.7 litres. It can be enjoyed neat or over ice and also works well in an Irish Coffee with hot coffee and cream.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Freshly roasted coffee leads the aroma, accompanied by subtle hints of vanilla and caramel.
• Palate: Coffee opens on the palate with a velvety mouthfeel. A sweet honey note follows, and the combination recalls tiramisu.
• Finish: The finish remains smooth and balanced. Honey sweetness lingers alongside a pleasant coffee note.

The history of Tullamore D.E.W. begins with the distillery founded in 1829 in Tullamore, Ireland. The letters D.E.W. commemorate Daniel Edmund Williams, who initially worked there as a stable boy and later took over the management of the distillery. His name remains part of the brand today.

At today’s distillery in Tullamore, the stages of whiskey production are brought together at a single site: the grain is milled and mashed there, and the wort is fermented and then distilled. Cask maturation and whiskey bottling also take place on the premises. This integrated approach provides the background to the whiskey base of Café Honey.
