Special features: This 11-year-old single cask whisky was matured in bourbon cask no. 14/201 and bottled as a limited edition of only 242 bottles. The cask strength of 53.8% ABV ensures an intense flavor experience. Bottling was carried out without chill filtration and without the addition of coloring, thus preserving the natural characteristics of the Islay distillate.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Smoky notes paired with fresh citrus fruits and a hint of vanilla from the bourbon barrel.
- Palate: Rich and full-bodied with aromas of peat smoke, honey, light spice and malt.
- Finish: Long lasting, warm and smoky with subtle hints of oak and spices.
Distillery/Bottler: Kilchoman is one of the youngest distilleries on the Scottish island of Islay, founded in 2005. It follows a artisanal philosophy and produces whisky from field to bottle on its own premises. The distillery places great emphasis on traditional production methods and the characteristic Islay peat smoke.
