Special Features:

This limited 2026 release marks Kilchoman’s first full maturation in former Maury casks. The Islay single malt spent its entire maturation in these casks rather than merely receiving a finish. Maury is a sweet fortified wine from Roussillon in southern France, produced mainly from Grenache Noir. The whisky was bottled at 50%.

The cask maturation brings dates, raisins and dark honey together with Kilchoman’s peat smoke and citrus character. Figs, salted caramel and orange peel shape the nose, while dark chocolate and dark sugar syrup define the palate. Cocoa, earthy peat and dry spices lead into the finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals figs, raisins and dates accompanied by salted caramel, orange peel and gentle peat smoke.
• Palate: On the palate, pipe smoke and dark chocolate combine with dark sugar syrup and warming spices.
• Finish: Dried fruit, cocoa and earthy peat smoke linger on the finish alongside gentle dry spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

Kilchoman Distillery distilled this whisky on Islay and bottled it itself as an official distillery release. The whisky matured entirely in former Maury casks. At the distillery, Kilchoman’s team oversees key stages from malting and distillation through to bottling, and the limited editions are also bottled there.

Anthony and Kathy Wills founded Kilchoman in former farm buildings in 2005, opening the first new distillery on Islay in more than 124 years. In its own floor maltings, the malt is turned by hand and kiln-dried with peat cut on Islay. This family-run farm distillery therefore brings artisanal malting, distillation and bottling together on one site.
