Special Features:

Distilled in 2011, this Ardmore spent its fourteen-year maturation in second-fill Oloroso sherry butts. Signatory Vintage bottled the whisky in 2025 as 100 Proof Edition #62. The second-fill Oloroso maturation contributes dried fruit, dark chocolate and spices without masking the malt’s dry, ashy peat smoke.

At 57.1% ABV, the single malt is powerful, full-bodied and oily. Citrus and forest honey provide bright, sweet accents against the dark Oloroso fruit and prominent peat. The whisky has its natural colour and was not chill-filtered.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Citrus fruit and forest honey mingle with creamy vanilla, dark chocolate and dried fruit, underpinned by delicate peat smoke.
• Palate: Juicy orange and spiced dried fruit meet dark chocolate. The body is full and oily, while prominent ashy peat and a trace of iodine provide a dry counterpoint.
• Finish: The finish is long, spicy and dry, with the ashy smoke lingering.

Distillery/Bottler:

Ardmore Distillery lies near Kennethmont in Aberdeenshire, on the edge of the Scottish Highlands. Its founder, Adam Teacher, used the nearby railway to connect the remote site with Glasgow. The distillery’s water still comes from natural springs on Knockandy Hill. Ardmore distilled the lightly peated Highland malt used for this bottling.

Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington and his brother. Since 2007, the independent bottler has been based entirely at the Edradour Distillery site in Pitlochry. For 100 Proof Edition #62, Signatory Vintage bottled this Ardmore after fourteen years of maturation in second-fill Oloroso sherry butts.
