Special Features:

This heavily peated Highland single malt was distilled at Edradour in September 2010 and matured for 15 years in three first-fill bourbon barrels, numbered 276, 281 and 282. Signatory Vintage bottled it in March 2026 for the Un-Chillfiltered Collection at 46%. The whisky contains no added colouring and is non-chill-filtered.

Maturation in first-fill bourbon barrels shapes the balance between sweet vanilla and earthy peat smoke. Honey and delicate fruit complement this contrast before white pepper, dark chocolate and spice define the long, smoky progression. Oak rounds out the profile.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Sweet vanilla and honey provide a counterpoint to the intense peat smoke on the nose, accompanied by delicate hints of fruit.
• Palate: On the palate, sweet, earthy smoke meets creamy vanilla and fruit, while a pinch of white pepper adds spice.
• Finish: Smoke, dark chocolate and spice remain present throughout the long finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Edradour Distillery has produced Ballechin as its heavily peated single malt since 2003, using malt with a phenol level of at least 50 ppm. The name recalls a Perthshire distillery that closed in 1927 and was associated with peated whisky.

For this edition, Signatory Vintage is both the independent bottler and the owner of Edradour. The whisky matured for 15 years in three first-fill bourbon barrels before Signatory Vintage bottled it at 46% in 2026.
