The Grand Marnier Hogshead finish gives this smoky Ballechin a pronounced fruit character. After finishing, the whisky was bottled as a single-cask release for The Nectar and Kirsch Import. It is part of an anniversary edition.

Distilled in 2013, this 13-year-old single malt was bottled by Signatory Vintage in 2026 at 59.1% in 0.7-litre bottles. It is non-chill-filtered and contains no added colouring. Peat smoke, cherry and orange shape its character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Bold peat smoke, ripe cherry and sweet orange lead on the nose, with vanilla, dry oak and an earthy nuance alongside them.
• Palate: Candied orange and dark cherry meet peat and spicy oak on the palate. The whisky feels rounded and slightly oily.
• Finish: The long, dry finish leaves orange peel and a little vanilla, while woodsmoke and a spicy wood note linger.

Distillery/Bottler:

Ballechin is the heavily peated single malt made by Edradour Distillery in the Scottish Highlands. The distillery has produced it since 2003 using barley malt peated to at least 50 ppm. It represents the smoky side of Edradour.

Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington and his brother. Andrew Symington bought Edradour in 2002, and Signatory later moved its operations to the distillery site in Pitlochry. Edradour made the whisky in this release; Signatory Vintage brought it to market as an independent bottler.
