Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 46% | Chill filtration: No | Colouring: No
Special Features:
Eleven years of maturation in Oloroso sherry butts give this Ben Nevis a pronounced sherry character. Signatory Vintage bottled it on 28 April 2026 at 46%, with no added colour and without chill filtration.
The Tartan Army edition is dedicated to supporters of Scotland's national football team, bringing Highland single malt together with Scottish fan culture.
Dark berries, raisins, dates and fruitcake form the fruity side of the profile. Orange peel, leather, walnut bread and roasted nuts provide bold accents, while cocoa, milk chocolate, tobacco and black pepper add chocolatey, earthy and spicy notes.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: The nose combines dark berries and raisins with cocoa, orange peel, leather and delicate spice.
- Palate: The palate reveals fruitcake, dark sugar syrup and roasted nuts alongside warm sherry sweetness, tobacco and a hint of black pepper.
- Finish: The finish is long and warming, with lingering dried fruit, oak spice and delicate earthy notes.
Distillery/Bottler:
The Ben Nevis Distillery was founded by John McDonald in 1825 and stands near Fort William at the foot of the mountain from which it takes its name. The distillery has belonged to Nikka Whisky Distilling Co., Ltd. since its acquisition in 1989 and distilled the single malt used for this bottling.
Andrew Symington and his brother founded Signatory Vintage in 1988. The company has operated on the grounds of the Edradour Distillery in Pitlochry since 2007. As an independent bottler, Signatory Vintage released this 11-year-old Ben Nevis as a Tartan Army edition at 46%.
