Signatory Vintage selected a smoky Staoisha from Bunnahabhain for the Nectar & Kirsch edition. Distilled in 2013, the single malt spent twelve years in Sherry Butt No. 900018 before being bottled in 2026 to mark The Nectar’s 20th anniversary. Salty coastal notes, smoke and nutty sweetness shape this single-cask release.

The whisky was bottled at 55% alcohol in 0.7-litre bottles. It contains no added colouring and was not chill-filtered.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, seaweed and salty maritime notes meet toasted hazelnuts and dark dried fruit, accompanied by a delicate trace of smoke.
• Palate: On the palate, full-bodied caramel and malty sweetness combine with pronounced saltiness. The smoke remains gently integrated.
• Finish: The long finish fades with nutty notes, a hint of sea air and smoky spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

Founded in 1881, Bunnahabhain is located in the north-east of Islay. The distillery is now best known for its unpeated single malt. Staoisha, by contrast, is its peated spirit, made during limited production periods and showing the distillery’s smoky side.

Signatory Vintage is an independent bottler founded by Andrew Symington and his brother in 1988. The company has been based at Edradour Distillery in Pitlochry since 2007. Bunnahabhain produced the spirit for this whisky; Signatory Vintage selected the single cask and bottled the whisky from it.
