Special Features:

This 13-year-old winter release combines seven first-fill bourbon barrels with five first-fill hogsheads that previously held Oloroso or Pedro Ximénez sherry. The whisky was distilled on 25 December 2012 and filled into the twelve casks that same day. It then matured in the upper part of the distillery's dunnage warehouse. Bottled at 46% in February 2026, the release comprises 3,475 bottles of 0.7 litres each. The whisky contains no added colouring and is non-chill-filtered.

The bourbon casks shape the bright orchard fruit, vanilla and honey, while the sherry casks contribute mainly dried fruit and nutty depth. A malty sweetness brings both sides together; apricot, cocoa, malt biscuits and toffee broaden the overall profile, while ginger and white pepper add spicy accents.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Pear, yellow apple and lemon oil open on the nose, followed by vanilla fudge and honey. Raisins, apricot and walnut then add darker accents, joined by toasted orange peel.
• Palate: On the palate, malt biscuits, orchard fruit, vanilla and toffee meet dried fruit, almond and cocoa. Ginger and white pepper provide a clear spicy counterpoint.
• Finish: The finish is medium-long to long, initially showing fruit and vanilla. It becomes slightly drier as it develops, with citrus, nuts, sherry and a light oak note shaping the aftertaste.

Distillery/Bottler:

Daftmill Distillery is a farm distillery in the Howe of Fife. Its distilling periods follow the agricultural calendar, and it uses barley grown on the farm and water from an artesian well.

The Concerto barley used for this release came from Daftmill's southern fields. It was harvested on 2 and 3 September 2011, dried and stored on the farm, then malted in Alloa in spring 2012. This official distillery bottling combines twelve selected first-fill casks.
