Special Features:

Maturation entirely in Amarone hogsheads distinguishes this Edradour bottling. The casks previously held wine from the Dal Forno Romano estate in Italy’s Valpolicella region and were then used for whisky for the first time. Whisky from selected casks was combined for this limited small-batch release.

This Highland single malt was distilled in 2007 and bottled in 2026 after 18 years of maturation, at 46% in 0.7-litre bottles. It is not smoky, contains no added colouring and was not chill-filtered. The bottle comes in a tube.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose brings ripe black cherries and dark forest berries alongside spicy oak, with a delicate spice note.
• Palate: On the palate, the whisky is velvety and full-bodied. Dark berries, dark chocolate and pronounced oak spice define the flavour.
• Finish: The finish is long. Fine tannins and a subtle peppery heat accompany the spicy wood notes, which fade to a dry close.

Distillery/Bottler:

Edradour is located near Pitlochry in the Scottish Highlands. The distillery traces its founding to a cooperative of local farmers in 1825. It still uses small stills and traditional worm tubs in its original stillhouse; in these water-cooled coils, alcohol vapour condenses.

Edradour has belonged to Andrew Symington’s Signatory Vintage since 2002. The distillery places importance on selecting its oak casks and uses wine and sherry casks alongside traditional cask types for its single malts. This whisky is a distillery bottling from Edradour.
