Special Features:

Full maturation in ten first- and second-fill Oloroso sherry butts gives Batch #8 its distinctly sherry-led profile. Casks 553, 554, 701 and 703 to 709 were used. Distilled in 2013, the malt was bottled in 2026 after twelve years. The ten casks yielded 6,656 bottles at a natural cask strength of 58%; the whisky is not chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

The sherry maturation brings together dark berries and cherries with raisins, figs, orange peel and Christmas cake. Cocoa, dark chocolate, honeyed malt, cinnamon and nuts complement the fruit. The full body carries ripe fruit sweetness and warming spices before the profile becomes drier and nuttier.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Dark berries, cherries and ripe fruit come to the fore on the nose, followed by malt, cinnamon and a gentle nutty spice.
• Palate: On the palate, currants and dates combine with oak, creamy cashew notes and warming spices.
• Finish: The long finish becomes increasingly dry, revealing roasted malt, walnut, dark berries, spices and toasted oak.

Distillery/Bottler:

Edradour traces its history back to 1825, when the distillery was founded as a cooperative by local farmers. It continues to operate on a small scale at its site near Pitlochry, where an open cast-iron mash tun, wooden washbacks, two copper stills and traditional worm tubs shape production. Edradour carries out the entire process there, from distillation and maturation to bottling.

Andrew Symington took over Edradour in 2002, and by 2007 Signatory Vintage had transferred its operations to the distillery site. Batch #8 is an official Edradour bottling.
