Special Features:

This Enmore brings together the distinctive aromatic character of a wooden Coffey still and 25 years of maturation. Distilled in 1997, the rum was selected by Rum Nation in 2023 for its Small Batch Rare Rums range. The release comprises 860 bottles. Despite its long maturation, it remains full-bodied and distinctly ester-driven, with impressions of overripe and fermented tropical fruit.

Bottled at 59% alcohol, this rum contains no added colouring and is not chill-filtered. The 0.5-litre bottle, with a cord around its neck, comes in an elaborately designed box featuring a bird motif.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals an intense estery character, with fermented, overripe fruit recalling banana, avocado and papaya. An unusual note of wood glue adds another dimension. Cola, bergamot, pepper and cinnamon then emerge, while old oak remains a subtle accompanying note.
• Palate: The fruity and spicy impressions return on the palate. The rum is sweet, juicy, dense and creamy, while its estery character remains exceptionally intense. Cereal and flour notes appear before cinnamon and pepper take the lead.
• Finish: Oak and spicy notes remain present throughout the long finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Enmore name is closely associated with a distinctive piece of distilling equipment in Guyana: the wooden, continuously operating Coffey still was originally installed at Enmore Estate in 1880. Its EHP designation recalls Edward Henry Porter, the former owner of the sugar plantation. This historic still continues to operate today at Diamond Estate.

Rum Nation was founded by Fabio Rossi in 1999. His selections aimed to showcase the different rum styles of their countries of origin rather than emphasise a uniform house style. The Rare Rums extend this concept through small cask-strength releases that place greater emphasis on the distillery and cask details.
