This 14-year-old bottling combines Glen Garioch’s malty distillery character with full maturation in bourbon casks. Distilled in 2011, the single malt matured in first- and second-fill bourbon barrels before Signatory Vintage bottled it at 46% in June 2026. The cask selection complements its malty foundation with vanilla, honey, caramel and oak spice without obscuring the distillery character.

The whisky belongs to the Un-Chillfiltered Collection, which returned in 2026. Signatory Vintage bottles the releases in this range at 46%, without chill filtration or added colouring. The collection’s updated design uses regional colour coding, with red denoting the Highlands.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Ripe vanilla and creamy honey take the lead on the nose. Coconut and sweet-tart apple follow, while restrained spice remains in the background.
• Palate: On the palate, sweet caramel and bourbon vanilla combine with cinnamon and ginger. Buttery almonds and malty grain support the oily texture.
• Finish: The finish is long, combining oak with honeyed sweetness and spicy depth.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glen Garioch operates in Oldmeldrum in north-east Scotland, around 27 kilometres from Aberdeen. Its official founding year is 1797, when the distillery was established by the Manson brothers, who came from a farming family. The original site on the edge of the historic market town included a brewery as well as the distillery. The Vale of Garioch has long been known for growing barley and gave the distillery its name.

Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington and his brother. The name stems from the initial plan to have every bottling signed by a well-known personality; the idea was abandoned, but the company name remained. After acquiring Edradour Distillery in 2002, Signatory gradually moved its operations there and has worked entirely from the Pitlochry site since 2007. For this Glen Garioch, the independent bottler is responsible for selecting the bourbon casks and bottling the whisky as part of the Un-Chillfiltered Collection.
