Special Features:

The 15 is a fifteen-year-old Speyside single malt matured in European oak casks previously seasoned with sherry. This deliberate choice of cask combines The Glenrothes’ light, elegant house character with baked fruit, nuts and pronounced baking spices.

The sherry-seasoned European oak brings together brown sugar, candied orange, dark chocolate and a distinctive structure of spices. At 43%, the whisky is rich and silky, with the fruit remaining well balanced.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals dark brown sugar, baked apples and pears, hazelnut praline, candied orange, maple syrup, toasted oak and leather.
• Palate: Caramelised pear, dark chocolate and pecan pie mingle on the palate with cinnamon, clove, cardamom, candied ginger and orange marmalade.
• Finish: The finish is rich, smooth and silky, with a bright warmth of spice that lingers.

The Glenrothes Distillery produces the single malt for The 15. The distillery was founded in 1879 with the vision of creating a lighter, more elegant Speyside character. The Glenrothes brand belongs to Edrington’s portfolio; Edrington acquired it from Berry Bros. & Rudd in 2017, reuniting the brand with the distillery. In The 15, maturation in sherry-seasoned European oak casks complements the house style with baked fruit, praline and warming spices.
