Hinch Double Wood combines bourbon-cask maturation with a further year in new American oak. The blend consists of 75% single grain and 25% single malt whiskey. The whiskeys first spend at least four years in first-fill ex-bourbon casks before their virgin oak finish. This triple-distilled whiskey is bottled at 43% in a 0.7-litre bottle.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is sweet and creamy. Lemon zest and vanilla cream are accompanied by subtle tobacco notes and a light woody note.
• Palate: The whiskey is soft and creamy on the palate, with bold oak spice and mocha. Vanilla and warming cinnamon follow.
• Finish: Fresh fruit with a honey-like sweetness leads the long finish. Melon and wholemeal biscuits with milk chocolate precede a gently lingering spiciness.

Hinch is located on the Killaney Estate near Ballynahinch in Northern Ireland's County Down, between Belfast and the Mourne Mountains. The brand takes its name from Ballynahinch, whose Irish place name means “town of the island”. The company's history began in 2016. Its purpose-built distillery brings the production stages from grain milling through mashing and distillation to bottling together under one roof. The range includes both blends and single malts distilled and matured on site.
