Special Features:

This Knockando was finished in a single first-fill Oloroso sherry hogshead, cask no. 8. The Speyside single malt was distilled on 22 October 2010 and bottled 15 years later on 24 February 2026.

Signatory Vintage bottled the whisky at a cask strength of 54.7% for the Cask Strength Collection. It is non-chill-filtered and contains no added colouring. The cask yielded 337 bottles of 0.7 litres each.

The Oloroso finish shapes the whisky with mature dried fruit, dark chocolate and nutty sherry notes. Honey adds richness to the powerful, velvety palate, while spicy oak provides structure and cinnamon accompanies the long, dry and spicy finish.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines mature dried fruit and dark chocolate with sweet spices, sherry sweetness and nutty notes.
• Palate: The whisky is full-bodied and velvety on the palate, with fruity sweetness, honey and dark chocolate supported by spicy oak notes.
• Finish: Spices, cinnamon and fruity sherry notes linger throughout the long finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

The single malt comes from Knockando Distillery in the Speyside village of the same name. John Tytler Thomson founded the distillery in 1898, and distillery architect Charles Doig designed it. The deliberately cloudy wort contributes to the distillate’s characteristic nutty quality.

Independent bottler Signatory Vintage is responsible for this single-cask bottling. Andrew Symington and his brother founded the company in 1988. After acquiring Edradour Distillery in 2002, Signatory gradually transferred its operations to the distillery’s site in Pitlochry, completing the move in 2007.
