Special Features:

This six-year-old bottling presents the heavily peated Ledaig side of Tobermory Distillery as Edition 76 of Signatory Vintage’s 100 Proof series. Distilled in 2020, the whisky matured in a combination of refill Oloroso sherry hogsheads and refill bourbon barrels before being bottled in 2026 at 57.1%. It contains no added colouring and is non-chill-filtered.

Its profile combines campfire smoke, coastal peat and cold ash with lemon zest, green apple, pear, vanilla cream, salted caramel and raisin. Toasted nuts, black pepper, sea salt, honeyed malt and toffee add to its powerful maritime character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose combines powerful campfire smoke and coastal peat with lemon zest, green apple, vanilla cream and salted caramel. Cold ash, toasted nuts and a hint of raisin complete the impression.
• Palate: The whisky feels oily and powerful on the palate. Campfire ash, toasted oak, black pepper and sea salt appear first; honeyed malt, citrus peel, pear, toffee and a gentle sherry sweetness balance the intensity of the peat.
• Finish: The finish is long and warming, with lingering peat smoke, sea salt, gentle spices and soft vanilla sweetness.

Distillery/Bottler:

Founded in 1798, Tobermory Distillery stands by the harbour in Tobermory on the Isle of Mull and uses water from the nearby Gearr Abhainn. It produces two distinctly different single malt styles: the unpeated whisky bears the Tobermory name, while Ledaig represents the distillery’s peated, smokier side.

Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington and his brother. By 2007, the independent bottler had moved its operations to the grounds of Edradour Distillery near Pitlochry. For this edition, Signatory Vintage bottled the six-year-old Ledaig as part of its 100 Proof series.
