Special Features:

The Speyside single malt from Small Batch Edition #20 was finished in first-fill Pedro Ximénez sherry butts. Distilled in 2011, it was bottled by Signatory Vintage in 2026 at 14 years old and 48.2%. The distillery behind the Speyside (M) designation is not disclosed. The whisky is non-chill filtered and bottled without colouring.

The first-fill PX casks give the malt a pronounced, dark sherry sweetness and aromatic depth. Dried fruit, caramel and toffee form its sweet core, while nuts, cocoa, dark chocolate and spice provide drier contrasts.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Dates, figs and raisins come to the fore on the nose. Creamy caramel and leather follow, while dark honey, roasted nuts and a hint of spicy oak add further depth.
• Palate: The whisky is full-bodied and velvety on the palate. Sweet toffee and molasses combine with ripe plums and PX-led fruitiness; marzipan, roasted almonds, a little cocoa and subtle spice add structure and keep the sweetness in balance.
• Finish: The finish is long and smooth. Walnuts, dark chocolate and dried fruit remain present, accompanied by gentle spice and dryness as the flavours fade.

Distillery/Bottler:

Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington and his brother. Its name originated from the initial idea of having bottlings signed by well-known personalities; the concept disappeared, but the name remained. Symington acquired Edradour Distillery in 2002, and by 2007 the business had moved entirely to its site in Pitlochry. Signatory Vintage operates as an independent bottler; the specific Speyside distillery behind this edition remains unnamed.
