Special Features:

This twelve-year-old Lowland single malt matures in American ex-bourbon casks and Spanish Oloroso sherry casks. This double maturation gives the triple-distilled whisky additional depth, combining sweet pastry and lemon peel with oak, mandarin and lime.

Its profile ranges from fresh citrus and green leaf notes to vanilla and hazelnut, culminating in a finish shaped by ginger and lingering nuttiness. Bottled at 40% alcohol, the whisky is chill-filtered and contains added colouring.

Distillery/Bottler:

Auchentoshan Distillery produces this single malt in Glasgow in the Scottish Lowlands and bottles it as part of its core range. The distillery uses gently kilned, unpeated barley and distils every drop three times. During this process, the alcohol content rises from approximately 8% before distillation to around 81% in the resulting spirit.

The predecessor distillery, Duntocher, received its official licence in 1823. Following a later change of ownership, John Hart and Alexander Filshie renamed the operation Auchentoshan. The careful selection and matching of bourbon, sherry and wine casks is as integral to the distillery’s approach as triple distillation.
