Special Features:

This single grain from the closed Cambus Distillery matured for 31 years in a single sherry butt. The whisky was distilled on 5 May 1993. James Eadie selected cask 48088 for its single-cask range and released the bottling in spring 2025. The cask yielded 349 individually numbered bottles, each containing 0.7 litres. The whisky was bottled at its natural cask strength of 50.9%, without chill filtration or added colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, Demerara sugar syrup, fig compote and orange marmalade mingle with walnut furniture polish and toasted coconut, with a hint of dark chocolate.
• Palate: The whisky feels silky on the palate, with toffee fudge, dried date and vanilla cream accompanied by cinnamon, toasted almond and a delicate cigar-box note.
• Finish: The finish is long, warming and silky, with sherry-soaked fruitcake lingering alongside gentle oak tannins and sweet grain biscuits.

Distillery/Bottler:

Cambus began producing malt whisky near Alloa in the Scottish Lowlands in 1806. After installing Stein patent stills, the distillery switched to grain whisky in 1836. It closed in 1993, the year this whisky was distilled. The site continued to be used for cask filling and storage.

Independent bottler James Eadie traces its roots to the brewing and bottling business founded by James Eadie in 1854. His great-great-grandson Rupert Patrick runs the company today. Alongside single casks such as this Cambus, its range includes cask finishes and small-batch bottlings of malt and grain Scotch whisky.
