Distilled at North British in 1995, this single grain matured entirely in two refill hogsheads for 29 years. James Eadie bottled the whisky in 2025 at 49.9%, with the limited release comprising 361 bottles. It retains its natural colour and was not chill-filtered.

The edition forms part of The Distilleries of Great Britain & Ireland series. It draws on a series of articles published between 1922 and 1929, for which 124 distilleries were visited, described and photographed. James Eadie Ltd later published this historical record as a standalone volume and uses illustrations derived from it for the bottling series. This North British combines creamy dessert and coffee notes with bright white wine, citrus and tropical fruit, while the almost oily finish provides a finely bitter counterpoint.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose brings together crème brûlée, cappuccino, vanilla pods, vanilla custard and tonka beans with bright white wine and wheat beer.
• Palate: Crème brûlée and cappuccino return on the palate, accompanied by golden syrup, strawberries, green apples and green cardamom. Grapefruit, pineapple, aromatic white wine, floral syrup and acacia add a fresher dimension.
• Finish: Orange peel, clove and honey linger in the finish, which is focused, almost oily and delicately bitter.

Distillery/Bottler:

The North British Distillery was founded in 1885 by Andrew Usher, William Sanderson and John Crabbie. The three whisky entrepreneurs thereby created a shared source of grain spirit intended for their brands and blends. The Edinburgh operation began production in 1887 and developed into a major producer of Scottish grain whisky.

James Eadie Ltd selected two refill hogsheads for this standalone single-grain bottling. The independent bottler links the series to its republication of the historical distillery record and bottles the selected whiskies in limited quantities, with natural colour and without chill filtration.
