Special Features:
Feragaia draws its character from plants found on land and in the sea. Several rounds of distillation extract their aromas, after which the distillates are blended by hand and combined with Scottish water. No alcohol is used at any stage of production. The result has 0% alcohol, contains no sugar and has a natural amber colour.
The flavour develops from citrus notes contributed by lemon verbena, blackcurrant leaves and kaffir lime into an extended herbal character. Chamomile, pink pepper and serrated wrack add further nuances before a light smoky note and warming spice follow. Bitter orange and bay leaf broaden the aromatic range, while sugar kelp contributes body and fullness.
Feragaia can be served over ice with orange peel. For a longer drink, try soda water or a light tonic with a bay leaf. With soda water and lemon, it pairs with dishes such as tapas, salads and seafood; ginger ale and lime offer another serving option. Once opened, the bottle should be stored in a cool, dry place and used within six months.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: On the nose, herbs and spices combine with subtle citrus freshness.
- Palate: Feragaia is dry on the palate. Green botanical flavours meet gentle spice and restrained freshness.
- Finish: The long finish brings warming notes of cayenne pepper, ginger and ancho chilli.
Distillery/Bottler:
Jamie Wild and Bill Garnock founded Feragaia in 2019. Rooted in Fife, the brand takes its own approach to alcohol-free drinks rather than imitating the flavour of an existing spirits category. Production involves soaking and filtering the plants, distillation, blending and bottling. These steps are carried out and monitored by hand.
Some of the plants are grown by Feragaia in Fife or sourced from local partners. These include chamomile, bay leaf, lemon verbena, blackcurrant leaves and sugar kelp. After distillation, the used plants are composted. As of February 2023, Feragaia was certified as a B Corporation. Since R&B Distillers announced its majority stake in November 2025, Feragaia has belonged to the same brand portfolio as Isle of Raasay Distillery. Both founders remain involved in its development as shareholders.
