Special Features:

A finish in a first-fill Oloroso sherry Butt gives this peated single malt from Glasgow Distillery its pronounced sherry character. The whisky was distilled on 15 March 2018 and bottled from cask 18/1079 on 26 May 2025, after seven years.

Bold peat smoke meets dark fruit, roasted nuts and sweet notes of dates and caramel. Leather, tobacco and oak spice add a more savoury edge, while blackberry, orange, mint and cocoa round out the aromas.

Best Dram bottled the whisky at its natural cask strength of 58.7% ABV, yielding 651 bottles. The whisky was neither chill-filtered nor coloured.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Dense smoke, roasted nuts and dark dried fruit emerge first, followed by dates and caramel. Dark berries, vanilla and mint complete the nose.
• Palate: On the palate, the whisky is full-bodied, oily and powerful. Peat and smoke accompany leather, sweet tobacco, orange zest and spicy oak, with blackberry, herbs, raisins and dark chocolate alongside.
• Finish: The finish is long and warming. Smoke and spice linger with a dry sherry note, toasted wood and cocoa.

Distillery/Bottler:

The Glasgow Distillery Company Ltd. was founded in 2012 by Liam Hughes and Mike Hayward. Its distillery was established in Hillington, on the outskirts of Glasgow. It is not the same distillery as its historical namesake, which was founded in 1770 and closed in 1902. The present-day distillery filled its first single malt cask on 5 March 2015, so the spirit in this release comes from its early years of whisky production.

The distillery makes unpeated, peated and triple-distilled single malt. Best Dram is an independent single-cask range from Michel Reick: he selects the casks and has the whisky from them bottled. For this edition, he chose peated Glasgow malt from cask 18/1079.
