Lochlea Distillery Plowing Edition 3rd Crop

Special Features: The Ploughing Edition Third Crop marks the conclusion of Lochlea's seasonal small-batch releases. This final bottling was matured exclusively in small 200-liter ex-Islay casks, imparting a distinct smokiness to the Lowland single malt. Older and more robust than its predecessors, the whisky reflects the connection between farming and distillation by reflecting the influences of the seasons on the farm.

Tasting Notes:

  • Nose: Fresh cereal notes, accompanied by green apples and a hint of malt
  • Palate: Malt biscuits and fruity accents, surrounded by intense coastal and smoky aromas
  • Finish: Long-lasting with a pleasant smoky note and maritime nuances

Distillery/Bottler: Lochlea Distillery is a family-run farm distillery in the Lowlands of Scotland that closely links its whiskies to the farm's agricultural cycles. Distillation takes place in small batches, with seasonal influences and traditional methods playing a central role. This philosophy is particularly reflected in its "seasonal releases," which capture various aspects of the seasons and farmwork.
