Special Features:

This 0.05-litre miniature contains Nc'nean’s unpeated Organic Single Malt at 46%. The distillery uses Scottish organic barley for this whisky. Gentle fermentation and distillation bring out the spirit’s bright fruit character. Nc'nean makes the whisky in small batches, whose composition can vary slightly.

The cask combination comprises 55% STR red wine casks, 43% ex-American whiskey casks and 2% Oloroso sherry casks. Orange, apricot and raspberry jam meet sponge cake and creamy citrus notes, while stone fruit and spiced rye bread add to the fruity character. The whisky is certified organic, non-chill-filtered and free from added colour.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals orange peel, sponge cake, apricot and raspberry jam.
• Palate: On the palate, lemon cream and stone fruit mingle with spiced rye bread, honey and fudge.
• Finish: The medium-length finish remains juicy, fruity and creamy.

Distillery/Bottler:

Annabel Thomas founded Nc'nean in 2013 on her family’s land on Scotland’s west coast. The distillery has been distilling in Drimnin on the Morvern Peninsula since 2017. Dr Jim Swan helped select the equipment, barley, yeast and casks to develop a light, fruity whisky.

Nc'nean uses Scottish organic barley and renewable energy, including a biomass boiler fuelled by wood from the estate. A cooling pond supplies a large share of its cooling-water needs. The distillery has verified net-zero operations for direct emissions and purchased electricity. The Organic Single Malt is an official Nc'nean bottling.
