Special features: This blended malt is named after Masataka Taketsuru, the founder of Nikka Whisky. The composition is created by blending malts from the two Nikka distilleries Yoichi and Miyagikyo. Aged in ex-sherry casks and newly assembled American oak barrels, the blend offers a remarkable balance between smoothness and complex depth.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Complex and expressive with fruity notes of orange, grapefruit, and juicy pear, complemented by herbal and slightly peaty accents.
- Palate: Round and fine with malty and spicy cardamom nuances as well as a fruity candied fruit composition.
- Finish: Long-lasting, fruity, and bitter with citrus and dark chocolate notes, accompanied by a subtle peatiness.
