The Yoichi Single Malt is distilled using traditional methods in small pot stills over a coal fire, giving it its characteristic profile marked by fine peat smoke and delicate salty notes.

Distillery/Bottler: The Yoichi Distillery was founded in 1934 and is located near the Sea of Japan. This location allows for the characteristic salty sea air that is reflected in the whisky. Nikka, founded by Masataka Taketsuru, a pioneer of Japanese whisky production, follows a philosophy of combining traditional Scottish production methods with local characteristics. In addition to Yoichi, Nikka also operates the Miyagikyo Distillery, which is distinguished by a milder climate and steam-heated stills.
