Annandale 2015, 7y.o - North Star Spirits
Special features: This limited single malt whisky from the renowned Annandale Distillery was distilled in November 2015 and bottled in November 2022 by North Star Spirits. It matured for seven years in an Oloroso sherry butt, giving it a deep complexity. With a cask strength of 54.9%, it presents itself powerful and authentic. The bottling includes only 458 bottles, making it a coveted rarity for collectors and connoisseurs.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Intense aromas of dried fruits, particularly raisins and figs, combined with spicy notes of cinnamon and nutmeg. A hint of dark chocolate rounds off the bouquet.
- Palate: Full-bodied and complex, a harmonious blend of sweet sherry notes and a light oak note unfolds. The strong cask strength provides a pleasant warmth and depth.
- Finish: Long and warming, with lingering aromas of dried fruits and a subtle spice that underscores the character of the whisky.
Distillery/Bottler: The Annandale Distillery, founded in 1836 by George Donald, is located in the Scottish Lowlands near the border with England. After a long pause, production resumed in 2014. North Star Spirits, an independent bottler from Glasgow, is known for the selection and bottling of exceptional single cask whiskies. Founded in 2016 by Iain Croucher, the company has quickly earned a reputation for quality and innovation.
