Special Features:

This honey liqueur combines Teerenpeli's own single malt whisky with honey from the Lahti area. The beehives stand in the courtyard of the Teerenpeli Visitor Center and can be visited in summer. The whisky used matures in American oak casks. The honey softens its character without masking the fruity and lightly smoky aromas.

Vanilla and delicate floral notes complement the honey-led character. The recipe contains Teerenpeli Single Malt Whisky, honey and ascorbic acid; the sugar content is 105 grams per litre. The pale yellowish liqueur comes in a 0.5-litre bottle at 30% alcohol. It can be enjoyed neat, as a hot toddy or in cocktails.

At the International Wine & Spirit Competition 2026, the Honey Whisky Liqueur received the Spirit Gold Outstanding award with 99 out of 100 points.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, sweet honey and ripe apple combine with delicate vanilla and a hint of malt. Toffee and a subtle smoky note round out the aromas.
• Palate: The liqueur is velvety sweet on the palate. Fruity nuances and gentle spice accompany this soft impression.
• Finish: The comparatively long finish remains soft and rounded. The honey note lingers, accompanied by gentle woody tones.

Distillery/Bottler:

The family-run Teerenpeli Distillery was founded in Lahti in 2002. Its first distillery was established in the Taivaanranta restaurant in the city centre. In 2015, a larger facility was added at the Teerenpeli Brewery in the Lotila district. The original site remained in operation and is also used to develop new products.

Teerenpeli distils in traditional copper pot stills made in Scotland and works closely with its own brewery. For whisky maturation, the distillery mainly uses former bourbon and sherry casks, alongside casks that previously held other drinks. Jaakko Joki oversees whisky production from the selection of malted barley through to bottling and contributes to cask selection and product development.
