Special Features:

This Micro Batch brings together rum from two selected casks from an unnamed distillery in Lluidas Vale, Jamaica. Distilled from molasses in pot stills in February 2015, the rum matured for at least nine years in American oak Bourbon Barrels, including maturation under continental conditions. Rest & Be Thankful, WuDramClan and Kirsch Import selected the casks together. The rum was bottled in 2024 at 50%, with an outturn of 544 bottles, without added colouring or chill filtration.

Overripe banana and apple pie shape its sweet, fruity character. Ginger, bitter orange and cinnamon add spicy accents, while dark chocolate, roasted almonds and charred wood give the rum further depth. A delicate peppermint note rounds out the profile.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals pronounced notes of overripe bananas and caramelised apples. Ginger, bitter orange and a hint of almond accompany them.
• Palate: Overripe banana and apple pie take centre stage on the palate. Cinnamon, caramel and brown sugar complement the fruit, accompanied by a delicate peppermint note.
• Finish: The finish lingers and feels warm. Charred wood, dark chocolate and roasted almonds shape the lingering flavours.

Distillery/Bottler:

Rest & Be Thankful is an independent bottler of whisky and rum. The brand launched in 2012 with single-cask bottlings, with Bruichladdich, Port Charlotte and Octomore among its first releases. Its original focus on whisky later expanded to include a rum selection featuring small batches and single casks. These bottlings contain no additives or added colouring and are not chill-filtered.

The name comes from a resting place on Scotland's A83 above Glen Croe. The team passed it on journeys from Glasgow to the Islay ferry when they represented Bruichladdich. The inscription that gave the place its name was left by soldiers who completed the old military road in 1753. Jamaica also has a place called Rest and Be Thankful. For this Jamaican edition, the bottler selected two casks together with WuDramClan and Kirsch Import and released the rum under Rest & Be Thankful.
