Special Features:

Scaramanga brings together sugarcane distillates from three producers in Guadeloupe. It is made exclusively from fresh sugarcane juice. Before bottling, the spirit rests for several weeks in stone amphorae, after which softened water is added to bring it to a drinking strength of 45%.

Its pronounced sugarcane character combines with a sweet, slightly spicy grassy note. Strawberry and passion fruit add subtle fruity accents. Scaramanga can be enjoyed neat and also works in a Ti Punch, Daiquiri or Mai Tai. The green bottle contains 0.7 litres.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Fresh sugarcane and delicate citrus notes meet subtle spice on the nose. A light menthol note complements the aroma.
• Palate: The rum is powerful, fresh and fruity on the palate. Pronounced sugarcane combines with herbs and integrated spice.
• Finish: The lingering, dry finish leaves spicy notes and a fresh, slightly grassy impression.

Distillery/Bottler:

Scaramanga is created by bringing together distillates from several producers in Guadeloupe. Production begins with the sugarcane harvest between February and June. The hand-cut stalks are quickly crushed and pressed because the extracted juice, known as vesou, spoils easily. Fermentation usually takes about 60 hours and produces a sugarcane wine at around 9% alcohol. Subsequent distillation in a copper column yields a spirit at approximately 70% alcohol.
