The Classic Range explores different rum styles through their origins. For Barbados, Berry Bros. & Rudd selected a rum from Foursquare Distillery that was both distilled and matured on the island. This bottling combines a honey-led nose with a full-bodied palate and tropical fruit on the finish.

On the palate, sweet almond notes sit alongside wood, molasses and ripe fruit. Alongside its fruity character, the rum therefore also reveals darker, wood-led qualities. It is bottled at 40.5% in 0.7-litre bottles and comes without gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, sweet honey meets subtle earthy notes.
• Palate: The rum is full-bodied on the palate. Sugared almonds add a sweet accent among pronounced wood and molasses notes, joined by ripe banana and melon.
• Finish: Banana and melon remain present on the finish, with papaya adding to the lingering fruitiness.

Distillery/Bottler:

Foursquare stands on the site of a former sugar plantation in Barbados whose history dates back to around 1720. The Seale family brought the distillery back into operation in 1996. Richard Seale, a fourth-generation member of the family business R.L. Seale & Co., oversees distillation and blending.

Berry Bros. & Rudd is responsible for selection and bottling. Founded in 1698, the wine and spirits merchant remains family-owned and is based on St James’s Street in London. Through the Classic Range, it explores not only Scotch whisky styles but also the distinct rum traditions of Barbados, Jamaica, Nicaragua and Guatemala.
