Special Features:

The Flensburg Edition brings together rums from Barbados, Jamaica and Panama. Rather than foregrounding a single regional style, the blend combines light, five-year-old Barbados rum with five-year-old Jamaican rum and eight-year-old rum from Panama. The Jamaican component contributes characteristic ester notes, while the Panama rum adds its rounded character. The spirits are made from molasses using pot stills and column stills, encompassing both batch and continuous distillation. American and European oak casks are used for maturation. The rums matured for at least five years under tropical conditions; their ageing also includes a continental phase.

Caramel, tropical fruit and vanilla shape the full-bodied, sweet and spicy character. Coconut and macadamia broaden the aromatic range, while spicy oak provides structure. The bottling contains a sugar dosage of 15 grams per litre and is bottled at 43% without added colouring. It is suitable for drinking neat as well as for cocktails.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, caramel and tropical fruit mingle with a delicate spiciness. Ripe banana, coconut and macadamia complement the fruit-led bouquet.
• Palate: On the palate, juicy orange and pronounced peppery spice meet creamy vanilla. Exotic spices and gentle sweetness complement the lively mouthfeel.
• Finish: The long finish feels warm and velvety. A restrained woody note accompanies lingering vanilla and subtle nutty spice, with a hint of pepper.

Distillery/Bottler:

FRC stands for Flensburg Rum Company, a brand of Oldman Spirits GmbH that has drawn on Flensburg's rum-trading tradition since 2019. Based in Jübek, the company develops blends, bottles rum from individual casks and also handles product development and bottling for other brands. For the Flensburg Edition, it combines rums from three countries and bottles the finished blend under the FRC brand.

Until 2019, Oldman Spirits carried out all bottling, labelling and packing by hand. It subsequently expanded its cask warehouse and introduced semi-automatic and fully automatic bottling equipment. Alongside multinational blends, its range includes small-batch and single-cask bottlings.
