Special Features:

This RAMERO combines distillation on a historic wooden pot still with prolonged maturation in an ex-bourbon cask. Distilled from sugarcane molasses at Diamond Distillery in June 2003, the rum matured for 19 years in a cask with a capacity of 190 litres. It was bottled from cask 012 in December 2022 at its cask strength of 59.2%. This single-cask release comprises 246 bottles.

Floral and mineral freshness, together with light dried-fruit notes, shapes its character. Apple, mango, tobacco, leather and earthy nuances add further dimensions. Gentle oak spice complements the rather dry, full-bodied flavour profile. The rum is not chill-filtered and contains no colouring.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The rum feels rounded on the nose. Freesias and orange blossom accompany mineral freshness and juicy fruit notes.
• Palate: On the palate, the rum is intense yet rounded. Apple crisps and dried mango meet chocolates with floral notes and damp earth. Fresh tobacco and a light leather note complete the flavour profile.
• Finish: Dried fruit and leather remain present through the long finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Demerara Distillers Limited produced the spirit at Diamond Distillery on the Port Mourant Double Wooden Pot Still. This historic still originated at the Port-Mourant estate, founded in 1732, and reached Diamond in 2000 via Uitvlugt. Its Greenheart wooden distilling vessels and copper necks are distinctive features of its construction. The wood contributes to the still's pronounced aromatic rum style.

Heimat Distillers, based in Schwaigern, selected the rum from cask 012 for RAMERO and bottled it independently of the distillery. The company behind the business is Heimat GbR, with Marcel Eßlinger, Raphael Heiche and Rouven Richter. Founded in 2017, the producer introduced RAMERO in 2021. For its single-cask range, it selects individual casks both locally and internationally; each release is limited to the contents of one cask. In December 2022, the bourbon-cask release from Guyana and a Riesling-cask release became the first two editions in the range.
