Embassy No.1 brings together three aged Jamaican rums in the Rare Rums range. The blend comprises 65% Monymusk 1991 from ex-Oloroso casks, 20% Hampden 1992 from ex-bourbon casks and 15% Long Pond 1985/1986. The edition comprises 274 bottles.

The age statement of 25 years reflects the youngest component, the Hampden from 1992; the other two components are older. Rum Nation bottled the edition at 51% in 0.5-litre bottles.

The rum is juicy, robust and lively. Its creamy texture combines with the tannic structure developed during its long maturation. Its pronounced ester character meets sherry notes of dates and raisins, with a hint of coconut.

• Nose: Dried fruit emerges on the nose.
• Palate: The rum is full-bodied on the palate, with vanilla and exotic spices.
• Finish: The finish is long, gentle and warm. Subtle oak and caramel notes linger.

Distillery/Bottler:

Rum Nation is an independent bottler whose range grew out of Fabio Rossi's exploration of different rum origins in 1999. During visits to Scottish whisky warehouses, Rossi had discovered old rum casks from Jamaica and British Guiana. Silvano Samaroli subsequently shared his knowledge of the different rum styles and guided Rossi through his first steps in cask selection.

Rum Nation's labels highlight the region of origin rather than individual distillery names. Embassy No.1 follows this approach with rums from Monymusk, Hampden and Long Pond: the bottling brings together three Jamaican components rather than showcasing a single distillery.
