Dictador Reserva Colombiana

Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 38% | Chill filtration: Yes | Colouring: No

Special Features:

Dictador Reserva Colombiana combines maturation in former bourbon casks with the blending work of Master Blender Hernan Parra. He oversaw the development and cask maturation of this release. Its character brings together coffee and chocolate notes, the sweetness of caramel and cane sugar, and delicate spice.

The rum is bottled at 38% alcohol without colouring. The bottle contains 0.7 litres and comes without gift packaging. It can be enjoyed neat, over ice or as a base for rum cocktails.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Coffee and dark chocolate lead the aromas. Vanilla and caramel complement them, while toasted oak remains subtly in the background.
• Palate: On the palate, panela, an unrefined cane sugar, and creamy caramel combine with bold coffee and bitter chocolate. Delicate spice accompanies the velvety, soft mouthfeel.
• Finish: Vanilla and a hint of cocoa linger. A light woody note accompanies the harmonious, slightly sweet finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Dictador is a Colombian rum brand rooted in Cartagena de Indias on the Caribbean coast. Its history dates back to 1913. Hernan Parra continues his family's work as a third-generation Master Blender, with production based in Cartagena.

Blending matured rums is central to Parra's work. In the Essentials range, for example, he brings together rums matured for different lengths of time. Depending on the release, he uses Colombian or American oak, as well as former bourbon, sherry and port wine casks. This choice of casks distinguishes the individual blends within the range.
