Special features: This limited rum from the Philippines combines the tropical sweetness of Don Papa with the depth of European sherry casks. After aging in American oak barrels, it undergoes an additional 18-month maturation in four different sherry casks: Fino, Pedro Ximénez, Cream, and Palo Cortado. This special cask combination gives the rum a complex array of flavors and makes it an exclusive special bottling.
Tasting Notes:
- Nose: Surprisingly dry with distinct nutty aromas; the sherry is noticeable, yet still restrained.
- Palate: Rich and intense with notes of ripe dark fruits, dried fruits, and sugarcane; pleasantly sweet with a slight spiciness.
- Finish: Long and very smooth; sherry and fruits go hand in hand.
