Long maturation in American white oak bourbon casks shapes Flor de Caña 25. The rum spends 25 years at the foot of an active volcano in Nicaragua and is part of a single family estate’s range of Single Estate rums. It is made without added sugar, artificial ingredients or other additives.

Vanilla, dark cocoa and wood meet fruity notes, almonds and nuts. This bottling is recommended for drinking neat. The 0.7-litre bottle contains rum at 40% alcohol and comes in gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Vanilla, wood and dark cocoa come together on the nose.
• Palate: The palate offers fruity notes accompanied by almonds and nuts.
• Finish: The long finish is warming. Oak, cocoa and spice linger and gently fade.

Distillery/Bottler:

Flor de Caña’s history began in 1890, when Alfredo Francisco Pellas Canessa founded a distillery at the foot of San Cristóbal, Nicaragua’s highest and most active volcano. Today, the fifth generation of the Pellas family still oversees production on the same estate.

Current production practices include recovering and reusing the CO₂ generated during fermentation and distilling with entirely renewable energy. The company uses solar energy for bottling. Its rums mature in American white oak casks, with no added sugar or artificial flavourings.
