JCS Honest Venezuelan Rum

Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 55% | Chill filtration: No

Special Features:

Honest Venezuelan Rum launches the Jack Crap Spirits range as Single Origin No. 1. It spends its entire fifteen-year maturation in Venezuela in ex-bourbon casks, with no further ageing in Europe or additional finish. The rum is bottled in Germany at 55%, without added sugar, flavourings or colouring. It is not chill-filtered.

The packaging also reflects the choice of raw materials: the bottle is made from at least 95% recycled glass, while the label consists of 95% sugarcane paper. Cork and charcoal are used for the closure.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, vanilla, leather and tobacco accompany light citrus notes.
• Palate: On the palate, vanilla and wood combine with dark fruits.
• Finish: The finish is lightly peppery, with vanilla lingering for a long time.

Distillery/Bottler:

Founded in 1796, Destilería Sofa in Venezuela distils this rum in a continuously operating distillation column, known as a column still. The rum then matures in the tropical climate of its country of origin.

Jack Crap Spirits was founded by Nina Vorster, who had previously held a leadership role and co-founded a rum company. With her own brand, she combines the development of bottlings with open communication about additives and origin. This also includes calculating the CO₂ footprint across each stage, from the distillery through transport to packaging.
