Mauritius 6 y.o. - Rum Nation

Volume: 0.7 litres | Alcohol content: 43% | Colouring: No

Special Features:

Made from molasses, this Triple Cask Rum combines maturation in Mauritius with further ageing in Denmark. Of its six years, it spends four on the island and two with Rum Nation in Denmark. New oak casks, ex-bourbon casks and former sherry casks are used.

The three cask types contribute different qualities: new oak adds earthy depth, bourbon casks bring sweetness and sherry casks introduce fruity notes. This limited bottling comes from a single batch. The rum is offered at 43% in a 0.7-litre bottle with gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, red berries meet soft wine notes. A hint of maple syrup, fresh oak and sherry-influenced citrus notes add further layers.
• Palate: The rum feels velvety and full-bodied on the palate. Leather and oak combine with bourbon warmth, tropical fruit and toasted orange peel.
• Finish: The finish remains soft, with light tropical fruit notes and a lingering combination of sweetness and spice.

Distillery/Bottler:

Fabio Rossi founded Rum Nation in 1999 to highlight the distinct rum styles of individual countries of origin. The independent bottler buys matured rums from selected distilleries, then blends and bottles them in Denmark. The range includes rums from Jamaica, Barbados and Peru, among others. Postage stamp motifs from the countries of origin also express this geographical approach on the labels.
