Former port wine casks lend this XO Reserve its vinous character. For this blend, Old St. Croix brings together matured, double-distilled spirits from distilleries in the Caribbean and Central America. Maturation takes place in oak casks that previously held port wine. Its influence combines red fruit notes with a velvety texture and sweet accents.

This limited edition is offered in individually numbered bottles. XO Port Cask has an alcohol content of 45% and comes in a 0.7-litre bottle with gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Vanilla, pineapple and banana emerge first on the nose. Behind them lie dried red fruits and a subtle hint of port.
• Palate: Yellow and red fruits combine with a distinct port influence on the palate. Tobacco and cedarwood complement the fruit.
• Finish: The finish is long and layered. It fades with dry, harmonious chocolate notes.

Distillery/Bottler:

Old St. Croix traces its origins to Danish pharmacist Albert Heinrich Riise, who opened his pharmacy on St. Thomas in 1838. His work with alcohol-based preparations also led to rum production. The Old St. Croix brand name was later created for exports to Europe and the USA, taking its name from the neighbouring sugar cane island.

In 2025, the A.H. Riise brand was renamed Old St. Croix. Today, the XO Reserve range is based on a selection of matured spirits from different distilleries. The Master Distiller creates the blends with the aim of keeping their flavour balanced and consistent across bottlings. Cask selection and the wines previously held in those casks shape the individual editions.
