Description
Rhum JM, one of the few distilleries in the world that distills Rhum Agricole, is located in the evergreen Macouba on Martinique. The small, traditional company follows the strict regulations of the "Appellation d'Origine Contrôlée". The knowledge of how to meet such high standards of production and enjoyment has been passed down at Rhum JM since 1845 - right up to "Maître de chai" Karine Lassalle, who is now responsible for the Antillean distillery's diverse product range.
For La Dame Jeanne N.2, Lasalle combined rums that were 8 to 22 years old. They were bottled from bourbon barrels, a freshly charred American oak barrel and French oak barrels that had previously been filled with wine, and were then blended at cask strength. The limited assemblage is reminiscent of the glass containers known as "Dame Jeanne" that were used to store and transport rum.
