Special features: This rum combines traditional distillation methods with aging for up to 9 years in French oak barrels that previously housed Cognac. The combination of Rhum Agricole and Grand Arôme types characterizes this drop, while the limited production occurs exclusively from July to November. The bottling is free from additives and not chill-filtered, preserving the authentic, complex island character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: Lively aromas of fresh fruits and confections, marked by banana, pear, and white peach, accompanied by honey, raisins, dates, apricots, as well as notes of freshly baked bread and fine wood.
• Palate: Present ripe and delicate forest fruit aromas, including wild strawberries and sour cherries, with a finely integrated milk chocolate ganache and subtle roasted notes in the finish.
• Finish: Long-lasting, fruity, and with a subtle sweet spice that underscores the complexity.

Distillery/Bottler: Located at the foot of the Piton de la Fournaise volcano on La Réunion, the Savanna distillery has a long tradition of artisanal rum production dating back to the 19th century. Under the expert guidance of Émile Hugot, known as "Monsieur Sucre," the focus has been on complex rum specialties since the 1950s. As one of the few distilleries worldwide, Savanna combines column and pot still distillation with the fermentation of fresh sugarcane juice and molasses. This combination produces an intense, ester-rich rum that reflects the unique nature of the island.
