Tiki Lovers Pineapple draws on the Caribbean tradition of flavouring rum with fresh pineapple. Introduced in 2015, it uses natural extract from ripe South American pineapples. This gives the blend its intense pineapple flavour without diluting it with fruit juice.

Tiki Lovers Pineapple combines unaged and aged Jamaican pot-still rums with three-year-old Barbados rum from Foursquare, matured in ex-bourbon casks, and young column-still rums from Trinidad and Guyana. The blend is flavoured with natural South American pineapple extract.

Intense pineapple combines with fruity sweetness and spice. A delicate vanilla note complements the aroma, while toasted oak, slightly funky fruit notes and a hint of smoke add further dimensions. At 45%, the spirit has enough strength for Tiki cocktails such as a Piña Colada.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose reveals intense ripe pineapple. Behind it lie sweet notes of baked banana and honey, with a hint of vanilla. Green apple and pear complement the fruity aroma.
• Palate: Pineapple comes through strongly on the palate. Fruity sweetness and exotic spice combine with ripe banana, pear and cashew notes. A slight grassy nuance complements the flavour.
• Finish: The finish is long, warm and gently sweet. A delicate note of exotic spice lingers.

Distillery/Bottler:

Stephan Berg and Alexander Hauck, the founders of The Bitter Truth, developed Tiki Lovers through their work with classic Tiki cocktails. The Bitter Truth GmbH in Pullach manages the brand and releases this bottling.

The two Munich bartenders had already made their own cocktail bitters for their bars before founding The Bitter Truth in 2006. Their first products were inspired by historic cocktail recipes whose original ingredients had become difficult to obtain. Berg's collection of old and contemporary bitters provided flavour references for their development.
