Special Features:

Rye Rye combines Agitator’s American-style rye Blind Seal with The Swedish Blend. The distillery developed the whisky together with Swedish bartender Emil Åreng. It can be enjoyed neat or in cocktails.

The rye component matures in new American oak. The blend component includes whiskies from ex-bourbon, virgin oak, ex-sherry and chestnut casks. Alongside rye and oak, the whisky offers fruity, nutty and sweet notes, including dried pineapple, apricot, vanilla, caramel and nougat.

The whisky carries no age statement. It is offered at 40% in a bottle containing 0.7 litres, without gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is sweet and rye-led, with new oak. Butterscotch, caramel and marshmallow come first, followed by hints of peanut and cold-brew coffee. Baking spices and dough sit alongside citrus, pineapple and a light mineral note.
• Palate: On the palate, the whisky is medium-bodied and fruity-sweet, with warming spice. Toasted nuts, chocolate, lightly roasted coffee, brioche and caramel complement baked pear and cinnamon; a hint of anise rounds out the flavour.
• Finish: Plenty of vanilla defines the finish, accompanied by caramel and milk chocolate. It lingers for a relatively short to medium length.

Distillery/Bottler:

Agitator Distillery produces whisky in Arboga, Sweden. It uses two pairs of copper stills of different heights and distils under vacuum. The lower pressure allows lower distillation temperatures; Agitator shapes the character of its spirits through pressure, still shape and distillation speed.

For its whisky production, the distillery mills soaked malt with warm water and allows fermentation to continue for seven days. Emil Åreng brought his experience as a bartender to the joint development of Rye Rye.
