Maturation in first-fill American oak barrels shapes this 25-year-old Glen Keith from the Secret Speyside Collection. The casks were filled by hand, and the bottles are individually numbered. Bottled at 43%, this single malt combines summery fruitiness with sweetness and gentle spice. Orange and ginger marmalade and vanilla custard are among its characteristic notes.

Chivas Brothers launched Secret Speyside in 2019. The collection brings together mature single malts from Glen Keith, Longmorn, Caperdonich and Braes of Glenlivet, allowing each distillery's distinctive style to be explored individually. This Glen Keith comes in a 0.7-litre bottle with gift packaging.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, toffee apples meet the spice of ginger marmalade.
• Palate: On the palate, the fruity tartness of gooseberry jam combines with the sweetness of vanilla custard.
• Finish: The whisky lingers on a long, smooth and sweet finish.

Distillery/Bottler:

Glen Keith stands beside the River Isla on the site of a former mill and was the first distillery built in Speyside in the 20th century. Chivas Brothers began construction in 1957. The site also served as a training ground for accomplished distillers, including Alan Winchester. Glen Keith is therefore not only a source of single malt, but also a place where knowledge is passed on within Scotch whisky production.

The distillery's technical development included a switch to steam-heated stills in 1973. Glen Keith belongs to Chivas Brothers, whose whisky business has been part of Pernod Ricard since its acquisition in 2001.
