Special Features:

The Double Peat brings together two different sides of peat smoke: peated single malts from Islay and the less common peated malts from Speyside. Smoke comes from more than just the island component. The combination opens with maritime, salty notes before revealing sweeter, spicy smokiness with hints of heather.

As a blended malt, this whisky consists of single malts from different distilleries. Angus Dundee bottles it at 46% without chill filtration. The 0.7-litre bottle comes in a presentation tube.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The intense, smoky nose recalls grilled meat, grilled green peppers and damp embers. Maritime saltiness meets a fresh vegetal note.
• Palate: On the palate, powerful peat smoke and olive brine mingle with streaky bacon, fireplace soot, woody spice and smoked fish.
• Finish: Cigar smoke and liquorice slowly fade into tingling, sweet spice notes. Cloves and anise linger on the tongue.

Angus Dundee Distillers is the company behind The Double Peat. It operates two Scottish distilleries: Tomintoul in the Cairngorms National Park and Glencadam in Brechin in the eastern Highlands. Alongside its own single malt brands, the company develops blends and private-label whiskies for customers. Its maturation warehouses hold whiskies from various distilleries and of different ages.
