Special Features:

Distilled at Imperial on 18 September 1995, the whisky matured for 30 years in hogshead 50274. Signatory Vintage bottled it for the Symington's Choice range on 10 October 2025 at a cask strength of 53%; the cask yielded 128 bottles of 0.7 litres each.

Andrew Symington personally selects exceptional whiskies for Symington's Choice. This bottling has no added colour and is not chill-filtered; it comes in a metal tin.

Honeyed malt, tropical fruit, vanilla and spices define its core character.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: The nose is rich and dense: orange marmalade, heather honey and dried fruit mingle with light tobacco and floral accents.
• Palate: The palate is full-bodied and velvety. Dried apricot, toffee, vanilla, sponge cake and toasted coconut meet wood that provides structure.
• Finish: The finish is long, warming and elegant, with lingering notes of candied fruit, rich honey, hazelnut and gentle spices.

Distillery/Bottler:

Thomas Mackenzie built Imperial in Carron in 1897, naming the distillery in reference to Queen Victoria's Diamond Jubilee. After several periods of closure, it resumed production in 1991, closed permanently in 1998 and was demolished in 2013. The whisky distilled in 1995 therefore comes from its final production period.

Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 by Andrew Symington and his brother as an independent bottler. Andrew Symington acquired Edradour Distillery in 2002, and by 2007 Signatory had moved its entire operation to the distillery's site in Pitlochry. For this bottling, Andrew Symington selected the hogshead for Symington's Choice, and Signatory Vintage bottled the Imperial whisky matured in it.
