Special Features:

Distilled in 2011, this Linkwood matured for 14 years in first-fill and refill Oloroso hogsheads. Signatory Vintage bottled the Speyside single malt in 2026 as Edition #72 of the 100 Proof range at 57.1%. The 0.7-litre bottling is non-chill-filtered and contains no added colouring.

The first-fill casks impart a pronounced Oloroso influence, while the refill casks leave room for the fruity character of the Linkwood spirit. The result brings together fruit and malt with sherry-led sweetness, chocolate, oak spice and cocoa.

Tasting Notes:

• Nose: On the nose, ripe apples and malty sweetness mingle with dark sultanas and a hint of toffee; subtle oak spice and delicate cocoa round out the aroma.
• Palate: The palate reveals milk chocolate and creamy toffee, accompanied by a spicy note of ginger and the sweet, spicy depth of the Oloroso casks.
• Finish: The finish is long and warming, with delicate oak spice and cocoa lingering.

Distillery/Bottler:

The malt distilled in 2011 comes from Linkwood Distillery; for this bottling, Signatory Vintage brought together first-fill and refill Oloroso hogsheads and bottled the whisky as 100 Proof Edition #72. Peter Brown founded Linkwood near Elgin in 1821, and regular operations began in 1825. A second stillhouse was added in 1971, while the original stillhouse was closed in 1996.

Signatory Vintage was founded in 1988 and operates as an independent bottler. Following its acquisition of Edradour in 2002, the company had transferred all its operations to the distillery site in Pitlochry by 2007. Signatory centralises cask selection, storage and bottling there.
